In order to investigate the effects of moxibustion on anemic condition as medical treatment, a total 18 rabbits(mean body weight, 2.0§¸) which were administered phenylhydrazine hydrochlorideof 15§·/§¸, were selection at randon and alloted to three groups. Rabbits in one group served as controls and sample I were treated with moxibustion(Jung-Wan:CV_(12), Hyel-Hae:SP_(10) Geog-Su:BL_(17) every day and sample IIwere treated with moxibustion(Sim-Su:BL_(15), Gan-Su:BL_(18) Jok-Sam-Li:ST_(36)) every day.
Changes of number of hemoglobin, hematocrit and iron counts were observed 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14days for 14days. The results obtained were summarized as follows:
1. Mean hemoglobin counts of experiments of sample I and sample II were increased than those of controls throughout the expermental term and manifested significant increases from the 7th to 14th day in convalescence.
2. Mean hematocrit of experiments of sample I were higher than those of controls throughout the experimental term with significant increases from the 5th to 14th day and sample II were higher than those from 7th to 14th day in convalescence.
3. Mean iron counts of experiments of sample I were increase than those of controls throughout the experimental term and manifested significant increases from the 5th to 14th day and sample II were increased from 7th to 14th day in convalescence.
